<description>The Kanawha Valley Regulators will host the SASS Wild Bunch WV State Championship on October 16/17, 2010 More information is on their web site at www.kanawhavalleyregulators.com (http://www.kanawhavalleyregulators.com/) On November 6-7, there will be a 2 day Appleseed Shoot on the Pistol range (If it is good weather,we will actually use the Liberty Range) all other ranges open.If you are wondering what&amp;#39;s all the hubbub about Appleseed, go here to read all about it:www.appleseedinfo.org (http://www.appleseedinfo.org) PLEASE READ THIS ARTICLE!The Officers of PCGC have some exciting news for the members! Kanawha Valley Community and Technical College (formerly West Virginia State University) has a Workforce Development curriculum that teaches Heavy Equipment classes, and the instructor is a member of PCGC. They needed a place to learn how to move dirt, and asked if they could do it at our facility. We voted at the April Club meeting to allow them access to our dirt providing they put it where we want it, and had minimum impact on our members. Long story short, There will be dozers, loaders, excavators, etc. working on our Ranges throughout 2010 and maybe beyond. The classes are Monday through Friday 7:00AM - 5:00PM. So this will have little effect on most of our members. They will only work on one range at a time, and when they are downrange, there will be NO SHOOTING on that range. The Officers are working to get a couple of rifle shooting positions on the far right of the Pistol Range for daytime use when the Rifle Range is being worked on. When work is going on any of the ranges, all the other Ranges will be open. Our plan is to stop the erosion on the Rifle Range and straighten up the edges as well as smooth the range to make mowing easier. Next we will improve the backstop on the Pistol Range, and raise the berm on the left side for safety. There are other berms that need raising as well, and are on the list. The last project will be the creation of a new 100yard Smallbore Range in the corner of the big field. This new range will give the Youth Shooters a home all their own, and free up the Pistol Range 3 nights a week from sharing the range. PCGC will have to purchase some drain pipes and a BUNCH of grass seed, but we will be getting a huge amount of earth moved for free. All we ask of our membership is to be flexible and work with us. The ranges will be available as in the past after 5PM and all weekend when matches are not in progress. We are working on the Rifle Range first, so it will be done before the Fall and highest use period. If you have any questions or comments please direct them at me, not the Instructor or students. We will have to put up with changing our plans some(maybe), and dealing with mud(probably), but PCGC will benefit greatly in the end. I hope you see this as the huge opportunity that we do and go along with us. Our facility will continue to be one of the best in WV. NOTICE: There will be two locks and a chain on the gate. The PCGC Memberlock will be identified. The combination you have been using will work onthe PCGC lock. PLEASE lock our lock THROUGH the chain AND the KVCTC lock. This way the KVCTC personnel can come and go without having the PCGCcombination.Mac McMillian, PCGC (304)549-4310On August 28-29 we will be having Appleseed Training and qualification on the Pistol Range, all day both days. If you ever wished you could improve your rifle marksmanship, this is the program for you.
